Met Ball 2013: the red carpet

Last night a plenty of stars hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of New York for one of the biggest night of the fashion calendar, the Met Ball.

This year the theme was punk to celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute’s exhibition “Punk: Chaos to Couture”. Many attendees took the dress code pretty seriously adding an edgy touch to their outfits. Among them were Sarah Jessica Parker with a mohican headdress by Philip Treacy and Madonna in a Givenchy tartan jacket styled with thigh high stockings and a black wig. But not all the celebrities went punk so, Gwyneth Paltrow stood out with a classic Valentino gown in bold pink, meanwhile Jennifer Lawrence was ladylike in Christian Dior.

Writer, illustrator and street style photographer, Garance Doré is a fashion star and together with her fiancé Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist, she dominates the Web scene.

Inspired by a strong passion for art, in 2006 she started publishing her illustrations in 2006 and after a short time she raised the fashion’s A-list. The secret behind her success? A classic style combined with a splash of color and obviously a French chic touch.
